A recent genetic study of half a million people and their sexual experiences revealed what has been known to be true again; there is absolutely no causal link between homosexuality and one’s genes. Yet, a Gallup poll found 88% of people believe homosexuals are born that way.
A co-author of the study Benjamin Neale, a psychiatric geneticist with the Broad Institute in Cambridge, Massachusetts, said, “We also found that it is effectively impossible to predict an individual’s sexual behavior from their genome.”
Researchers found “non-genetic factors” such as personality, upbringing and environment “are far more significant in influencing a person’s choice of sexual partner, just as with most other personality, behavioral and physical human traits.”
If there isn’t a scintilla of scientific evidence of a genetic link to sexual orientation and behavior why do 88% of people believe homosexuals are born that way? It is easier to give into the homosexual propaganda than be called intolerant, bigoted, homophobic, hateful, or being on the “wrong side of history.”
It is easier for friends and family to simply believe homosexuals are born that way than to believe they made those kinds of choices, and not be subjected to the emotional onslaught of their fantasies.
All homosexuals came into this world by a heterosexual relationship; a male sperm impregnating a female egg. If homosexual behavior is genetic what is the mechanism that allowed the genes of two heterosexuals to transmit homosexual genes to their offspring?
Why is homosexuality the only sin mentioned in the Bible that should be condoned because people are born that way? What court of law would acquit a thief whose only defense was his claim that he was “born that way?” What wife would excuse her husband’s infidelity if his only claim were he was “born that way?”
Shouldn’t heterosexuals be able to blame their sexual promiscuity and acts of infidelity on the same excuse, genetics, because they were “born that way?”
Why do faithful Christians subject themselves to the assured pillory of the LGBT community and those who support them? Because Christian love motivates them to warn the LGBT community of the temporal and eternal consequences of disobeying God’s Word.
Temporally speaking, the AIDS epidemic is still a threat to homosexual men, members of the LGBT community are ten times more likely to commit suicide, and same-sex relations cannot produce the next generation or continue the family bloodline.
Paul warns us of the eternal consequences, “The unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God … neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals … will inherit the kingdom of God,” 1 Corinthians 6:9-10.
Same-sex propaganda aside, people believe what they want to do as they please. Genetics cannot be blamed for our behavior or be an acceptable excuse when we are judged. Propaganda may hide the truth, but it does not erase it. Genetics cannot be blamed for sinful behavior.
