Donald Trump’s nominee to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy, Brett Kavanaugh, has been mercilessly questioned about his views on abortion by the more liberal members of the Senate Judiciary Committee with Kamala Harris leading the charge.
She has received a great deal of notoriety for asking Judge Kavanaugh a question that he fumbled the answer to. Harris asked Kavanaugh if he was aware of any laws “that the government has power to make over the male body?”
Since Roe v. Wade sixty million babies have been aborted.
Since Roe v. Wade it is estimated just over 60 million babies have been aborted. Assuming half of those were male babies then the abortion laws since then have had power over 30 million male bodies, and that is not taking into account the 30 million babies who shared their gender with Kamala Harris.
Here’s a news flash, abortions were legal long before Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973. Former Surgeon General Dr. C. Everett Koop who served during the Reagan administration with 38 years experience as a pediatric surgeon at that time, said that when the health of the mother was genuinely threatened by a troubled pregnancy, the pregnancy would be surgically terminated.
The mother is literally the life support system of the unborn baby and a pregnancy that threatened the health of the mother likewise was a threat to the unborn child. When it was necessary to do so a pregnancy was aborted, but it was performed with an effort to save mother and child. Such procedures were not always successful, but there was still an effort made to save the mother and the child.
A shift in medical practice, we stopped aborting pregnancies and started aborting babies.
Roe v. Wade marked a subtle shift in medical practice, we stopped aborting pregnancies and started aborting babies. The Burger Court cowardly ruled, 7-2, that ex utero viability, the ability to live outside the womb, was when the fetus became alive and a person thus insuring constitutional protection and the right to life.
Medical advances have improved neonatal care making ex utero viability possible earlier in the gestation process, and we now know that within 30 seconds of conception 23 chromosomes of the mother and 23 chromosomes of the father unite to form a unique nascent human being. The only way to stop this human life from growing is to kill it.
Advances in genetic discoveries are making it increasingly difficult in denying when human life begins making the ruling in Roe v. Wade increasingly tenuous. It is not the jurist that stalks Roe v. Wade; it’s the geneticist.
The Scriptures have always recognized life begins in the womb.
The Scriptures recognized this from antiquity when God inspired the psalmist to write, “For You formed my inwards parts, You wove me in my mother’s womb,” Psalm 139:13. Everyone knows that life comes from life and it begins at conception. The Burger Court knew it too.
We have politicized what is most clearly a life and death issue about the most innocent and defenseless among us, the unborn child. Kamala Harris may have a smile on her face but there is blood on her hands.
